Pesaro, “My Hometown S.P.A.C.E”

Liceo Artistico "Ferruccio Mengaroni" – Pesaro

The Liceo Artistico Mengaroni , at the end of two years of activities in the European Comenius project " My Hometown SPACE", opens the doors of their school and the city of Pesaro to a delegation of about 30 pupils and teachers from the partner schools of Tarnowskie Gory-Poland, Ciudad Real-Spain and Osmanyie-Turkey.

 

 

All participating schools have worked around the central theme of the project that concerns, as can be easily seen from the title, the urban space considered at the same time as a home but also as a sort of a small country in which we can recognize and realize the principles contained in the acronym SPACE (SEARCH, PASSION, AMBITION, CREATIVITY, EUROPE).
 

 

 

Participating schools were free to choose how to decline the concepts of research, passion , ambition, creativity and Europe related to their city.　The Liceo Mengaroni identified, as a starting point, the definition of Pesaro as the city of 6 Ms that is traditionally attributed to her.

 

Mare=Sea, Mountains, Majolica, Music, Mobili=Furniture, Motors: these aspects are the features , the roots and the traditions, ancient and more recent ones, of Pesaro. However, some of them have gradually eclipsed, for various reasons, and because of this they are often little known to the citizens themselves.

This consideration gave rise to the idea of a rediscovery of our city with its symbols, old and new, with its passions, alive or forgotten, with the aim of spreading, especially among the younger generation, a greater and more conscious sense of belonging to their urban space.

 

The main phase of the project involved the creation of 6 ceramic routes through the city streets corresponding to the above mentioned 6 Ms.

These routes have been designed to drive visitors (as well as the inhabitants of Pesaro) to discover spots, buildings, streets, museums that tell or preserve some important pieces of our local history. Each of the 6 paths are traced through a series of ceramic tiles that will be installed in the road surface bearing a graphic symbol for each of the 6 Ms.

The project works made by the students of Mengaroni (Graphics, Design and Fashion Departments) will be on display, together with the works of the foreign schools, in an exhibition that will be held in the spaces of Mengaroni building from March 25 to 28. The final event will be represented by the fashion show of dresses and costumes designed and produced by the Department of Fashion Design of Mengaroni and Zespól Szkol Artystyczno-Projektowych of Tarnowskye Gory in Poland, which will take place on Friday, March 28 at 6 p.m. at the former Church of the Intercession (in Corso XI Settembre adjacent to the "Pescheria" Visual Arts Centre).

Il Liceo Artistico Mengaroni, a conclusione di due anni di attività nell’ambito del Progetto europeo Comenius "My Hometown S.P.A.C.E", apre le porte della propria scuola e della città di Pesaro ad una delegazione di circa trenta tra alunni e docenti provenienti dalle scuole partner di Tarnowskie Gory-Polonia, Ciudad Real-Spagna e Osmanyie-Turchia.

Tutte le scuole partecipanti hanno lavorato attorno al tema centrale del progetto che, come si evince facilmente dal titolo, riguarda lo spazio cittadino visto al contempo come "città-casa" ma anche come una sorta di piccola patria in cui si riconoscono e si realizzano i principi contenuti nell’acronimo S.P.A.C.E (SEARCH, PASSION, AMBITION, CREATIVITY, EUROPE).

Le scuole partecipanti sono state libere di scegliere le modalità secondo le quali declinare i concetti di ricerca, passione, ambizione, creatività ed Europa riferiti alla propria città.

Il Liceo Mengaroni ha individuato, come punto di partenza, quella definizione di Pesaro come città delle 6 M che le viene tradizionalmente attribuita.

Mare, Monti, Maioliche, Musica, Mobili, Motori: questi aspetti rappresentano i connotati, le radici e le tradizioni antiche e più recenti di Pesaro. Tuttavia, alcuni di essi, sono purtroppo lentamente entrati nell’ombra, per varie ragioni, e per questo sono spesso poco noti agli stessi cittadini.

Da questa considerazione è scaturita l’idea di una riscoperta della nostra città con i suoi simboli, vecchi e nuovi, con le sue passioni vive o dimenticate con l’obiettivo di diffondere, soprattutto fra le nuove generazioni, un maggiore e più consapevole senso di appartenenza al proprio spazio urbano.

La fase principale del progetto ha riguardato l’ideazione di 6 percorsi ceramici attraverso le strade cittadine corrispondenti alle suddette 6 M.

Tali percorsi sono stati concepiti in modo da guidare i visitatori (ma anche gli stessi abitanti di Pesaro) alla scoperta di angoli, palazzi, strade, musei che raccontano o custodiscono alcuni importanti tasselli della nostra storia locale. Ognuno dei 6 percorsi è tracciato attraverso una serie di piastrelle in ceramica che andranno installate nella pavimentazione stradale e che recano un simbolo grafico riferito a ciascuna delle 6 M.

Gli elaborati relativi al progetto, realizzati dagli studenti del Mengaroni (sezioni Grafica, Design e Moda) saranno esposti, insiemi ai lavori delle scuole straniere, in una mostra che si terrà presso i locali del liceo Mengaroni dal 25 al 28 marzo. L’evento conclusivo sarà rappresentato dalla sfilata di abiti e costumi disegnati e realizzati dalla sezione Design Moda del Liceo Mengaroni e dalla Zespól Szkól Artystyczno-Projektowych di Tarnowskye Gory in Polonia, che avrà luogo venerdì 28 marzo alle ore 18 presso la ex Chiesa del Suffragio (in Corso XI Settembre adiacente al centro Arti Visive Pescheria).
